Refined common rail diesels, or a powerful 24-valve V6 petrol engine; 5 and 6-speed manual, automatic or one-touch sequential shift transmissions – there is an X-TYPE to match your needs and to exceed anything you might expect.

Diesel Automatic

For the first time in this model range, the new X-TYPE now offers the combination of diesel power with automatic transmission – pairing the 2.2 litre diesel with a six-speed automatic, and the one-touch control of Jaguar Sequential Shift™ – broadening the new model´s appeal to buyers who previously could not have this combination in an X-TYPE. The new X-TYPE automatic diesel combines high levels of refinement with optimised performance and economy, and promises more choice and even greater luxury.

All wheel drive

Jaguar Traction4®, standard on the 3.0 litre petrol Estate, gives exceptional road-holding and handling. It assures road grip when pulling away and accelerating and is designed to reduce engine torque and use the brakes to automatically minimise wheel spin.

Leading Technology

Jaguar´s commitment to active technology has one aim: to give you optimum control whatever the circumstances. Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) is standard across the range and is designed to help maintain control and balance. Anti-lock braking system (ABS) reduces wheel lock-up under heavy braking, even in wet conditions. Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), helps with faster braking and steering control.

Safety

Almost twenty years of computer time – 175,000 hours – went into the development of X-TYPE´s safety performance for total confidence and improved passenger protection. Deformable crumple zones front and rear, engineered to absorb and deflect energy. All doors reinforced with anti-intrusion bars helping protect against side impact, and dual-stage front airbags designed to deploy as required for driver and front passenger protection.
