Body Details

A sporting saloon of power and elegance – the XJ´s exterior features bold new upper and lower mesh grille designs, side power vents set behind the front wheels, and revised styling to the rear including the addition of a new boot lid spoiler.

XJ offers the choice of standard or long wheelbase models, each featuring a bodyshell crafted from lightweight aluminium and constructed using advanced aerospace techniques.

Long Wheelbase

Perfectly proportioned, the long wheelbase models retain the remarkable performance and handling characteristics common to the entire XJ range, whilst offering ultimate rear passenger comfort.

The rear cabin of the XJ Long Wheelbase offers more than a metre of legroom, and is the perfect environment in which to relax or work whilst on the move. Rear seats are electronically adjustable, and four-zone climate control gives every occupant their own oasis of comfort. There are rear business trays for paperwork or a laptop, and the sophisticated rear multimedia system includes twin screens that can play TV, DVDs or video games.

Quality and craftsmanship

Rich, warm and spacious, the interior of the XJ is where traditional craftsmanship and intelligent technology combine. The cabin features woods and leathers that are individually selected for their perfection.

The choice of upholstery is extensive – Ivory or Champagne, Dove or Warm Charcoal with Granite, Charcoal or Mocha facias – and is complimented by signature Burr Walnut, sporting Aluminium or Elm Veneer or Satin American Walnut veneers.

To guard against external noise, the cabin glass is acoustically laminated, whilst comprehensive sound damping helps create an environment that is calm and relaxed.

XJR

Genuine sports performance in a luxurious premium saloon - the New XJR.

Like every XJ, the new XJR starts with lightness on its side, then adds the effortless power of Jaguar´s 400bhp 4.2 litre supercharged V8 - which has the ability to take the XJR from 0-60mph in just 5.0 seconds. But it´s the controlled suppleness of the XJR´s sports suspension and powerful reassurance of its high performance R braking system that make the performance even more satisfying.

Signature features and unique styling cues – including 20" Callisto wheels, R leather seats, aluminium finish power vents and the black painted brake callipers - say ´sporting´ just loudly enough to set the XJR apart without losing its subtlety.

Aluminium

Look beneath XJ´s sensuous lines and you will find space age technology and ground breaking design. The one piece monocoque bodyshell is manufactured entirely from lightweight aluminium, epoxy bonded and riveted for supreme strength and rigidity. The benefits for the driver are immediate – potent acceleration, quicker braking, pin-sharp handling, increased Fuel Economy and lower emissions.

XJ 2.7 D

Library quiet, thanks to extensive engine development, outstanding insulation and a host of advanced features such as acoustic laminated glass and class leading electronically controlled active engine mounts.

Jaguar´s 204bhp 2.7 litre twin turbocharged diesel engine features advanced technologies including the latest generation high pressure Common Rail direct injection fuel system and a lightweight Compacted Graphite Iron (CGI) cylinder block. It delivers enormous reserves of torque for swift and smooth overtaking, and offers improved Fuel Economy, and low emissions comfortably within the latest Euro IV requirements.

Intelligent Technology

The New XJ features a range of clever and intuitive technologies designed to work in harmony with the driver to enhance the driving experience. These include Dynamic Stability Control for confident handling and sure-footed agility. CATS™ Computer Active Technology Suspension helping ensure the optimum balance between ride comfort, handling and traction, and the availability of a highly sophisticated Adaptive Cruise Control system.

Safety

Safety is engineered into XJ from the beginning, starting with anti-intrusion bars in all the doors to help protect occupants against a side impact[s1], crumple zones front and rear, and curtain side airbags for rear seat passengers.

Jaguar´s Adaptive Restraint Technology System (ARTS™) constantly gauges exactly how best to deploy the XJ´s array of 6 front and side airbags.

An Anti-lock braking system and Emergency Brake Assist provide controlled braking under extreme conditions, while the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and Electronic Brake Distribution deliver the assurance of supreme stability and control.
